Isaac plans to give his favorite son, Esau, the blessing instead of Jacob—the one to whom the Lord had promised it. Even though Isaac knows this is not the Lord’s will, he sends Esau out to hunt so that he can bless him afterward. Rebekah overhears this, warns Jacob, and together they come up with a plan to deceive Isaac.
